Realtime Notes is a series of Instagram poems written in rapid response to current events. The project began on 17 August 2017 as a way to respond to fast-moving times by challenging one of the last remaining conventions in poetry: the idea that it should always take time, both to write and read.

Realtime Notes Volume Two contains 300 poems taken from the second year, covering the US midterm elections, the release of the Mueller Report, the fall of Theresa May, the rise of Boris Johnson, the testimony of Christine Blasey-Ford, the deaths of John McCain, Doris Day and Jamal Khashoggi, spies in Salisbury, shootings in Christchurch, a fire at Notre Dame, and a trip to Trump Tower.
