Realtime Notes is a series of Instagram poems written in rapid response to current events. The project began on 17 August 2017 as a way to respond to fast-moving times by challenging one of the last remaining conventions in poetry: the idea that it should always take time, both to write and read.

Realtime Notes Volume Three contains 353 poems taken from the third year, spanning Brexit negotiations, a General Election, the London Bridge terror attacks, an impeachment trial, a global pandemic, a prime minister in hospital, a trip to Barnard Castle, the US presidential primaries, and the death of George Floyd. The book contains an article marking 1,000 days of the project, first published in The Guardian.
